The Otesha Project UK2 Opportunities
Location:All of UK
"Otesha" is a Swahili word that means "reason to dream."
The Otesha Project UK is a youth-led organisation that's mobilising our generation to create social and environmental change through our everyday lives. Our goals? To tackle big issues like climate change, injustice and poverty in creative ways, starting with our own lives and actions. To build a community of people who are all doing the same thing, to inspire others to take practical environmental actions, and to have a bit of fun at the same time.
At the heart of our project you'll find a two-wheeled revolution. Every summer on Otesha Cycle Tours, teams of young people aged 18-28 hop their bikes and travel across the UK, stopping at schools, youth clubs, festivals and communities along the way to inspire thousads of others to live more sustainably by running workshops on topics from bike maintenance to food-growing and by performing the ever-evolving Otesha Morning Choices play. This summer we're cycling all the way from Land's End to John O'Groats - get in touch if you're up for a challenge and want to join the team!
We also work in schools, colleges and youth clubs across London, helping groups of young peopel aged 14-18 to set up projects that will make it easier for other people in their schools and communities to live in a cleaner, greener, fairer way. If you want your school or youth club to get involved, take a look at our Change Projects programme or contact Jo at email@example.com
